The Year 7 camp was a great success. It was encouraging to see how our Year 7s enthusiastically participated in all the activities and built relationships with the teachers and each other. The Camp Instructors were impressed with the behaviour of our students.
The Year 7 students participated in a range of exciting and challenging activities, encouraging them to get out of their comfort zone. Some activities included high ropes, archery, water games, blindfold trail and frisbee golf. Students worked in teams in building lasting friendships.
One of the highlights was the talent show, where the students used puppets and dress-up props to advertise a product to the rest of the campers. The winning team advertised Pandora Bracelets and wowed the judges with their performance.
Guest speakers on the camp included principal Doug Holtam, Ray Hockley and our College chaplains (Brian David and April Edwards), who all gave inspirational talks about growing up and their journeys with God. The camp finished with a fun day of waterslides, mini golf, and mazes at Outback Splash. This experience has set a great foundation of relationships with the staff and other students who attended and has developed a great tone to start the year.
