Year 6 Girls Basketball Team Takes on the Best at SSWA Champions Cup
After a successful campaign in a qualifying carnival earlier this year, our Year 6 girls were invited to participate in the SSWA Champions Cup at Bendat Basketball Stadium in Week 7.
We prepared with lunchtime training sessions leading up to the carnival, and the team showed determination and resilience throughout the day. Despite facing tough competition, our girls gave their best effort in every match, embracing the challenge and demonstrating a willingness to improve and learn from each game.
While we didn’t secure a win, the experience brought valuable lessons in teamwork and sportsmanship. Each game highlighted the importance of working together and maintaining a positive outlook, regardless of the outcome. The carnival was an excellent opportunity to measure the quality of the MCC Basketball program against the best basketball schools in the state. It is encouraging to see our students competing at this level. Thanks to Brooke Appleton for assisting and supporting the team during the day.
