From the Head of Primary

Welcome Back to Term 3!

I hope you all had a refreshing break and that many of you had the opportunity to travel and create wonderful memories. As we come together for Term 3, I want to take a moment to reflect on a personal realisation—this will be my last term with you all. This realisation brings a mix of emotions and a deep sense of gratitude and hope for the future.

At the beginning of the year, I was inspired by a verse from Isaiah 43:19.

“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?”

This scripture speaks to the promise of renewal and the constant presence of God’s work in our lives. When God says He is doing a new thing, it doesn’t mean He is doing something unprecedentedly. Instead, He is refreshing our reality with new hope and life. His actions are deliberate, rooted in His eternal, unchanging nature, and our identity as His children.

I firmly believe that God is at work in our school. Sometimes, we may not understand His ways and might question why things seem to go awry. However, in His infinite wisdom, everything is under His control and always works out for the good. His plan, though different from ours, is always for our benefit. We are blessed abundantly at this school, and it is important to give thanks for the great things happening each day, both big and small.

As we begin this term, I am excited to welcome Cyrus Siciliano, an Educational Assistant who is also completing his teaching degree. Cyrus will be working in the junior years, and we are thrilled to have him on board.

We are also grateful for Mrs Rene D’Alessio and Mrs Jacqui Wilmot, who will continue their roles as Acting Head of Wellbeing. This continuity allows Mr. Michael Chan to take on the Year 6 classroom teacher role and to start the much-anticipated Gifted and Talented program.

On a sombre note, I wish to inform you that Miss Teresa Loveland tragically lost her brother early last week in a road traffic accident. Our hearts go out to her and her family during this difficult time, and we pray for God’s grace and comfort to be with them.

As we embark on this new term, let us embrace the new things God is doing among us. Let us be thankful for the blessings, support one another through challenges, and strive for excellence in all we do.

I am wishing you all a wonderful and blessed Term 3.

In Christ,
Mrs Maura Killalea
Head of Primary
