The Greatest Story Ever Told
The Bible is full of incredible stories, but together, they weave what truly is the greatest story ever told. It’s a story of love, redemption, and hope.
In the beginning, God created a beautiful world and entrusted Adam and Eve with its care. But when the Devil deceived them, and they chose to disobey God, the power of sin entered the world, and everything changed. Yet, despite this, God’s love for His creation never wavered. Out of His great love, He intervened and sent Jesus to restore what had been lost. As it says in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Through His death on the cross and His glorious resurrection, Jesus conquered the power of sin and death. After He ascended to Heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit to dwell within those who follow Him, empowering us to live with hope, strength, and a renewed purpose.
So, where do we find ourselves in this grand story? The eternal Kingdom of God has been established for over two thousand years, and we are invited to partner with God in bringing restoration, peace, and goodness to the world. Through His strength, we work together to share His love and grace.
This is the greatest story of all—a story of joy, peace, and everlasting hope. It’s the good news celebrated in the opening line of one of my favourite carols: “Joy to the world!”
As we approach this festive season, I pray that you experience the fullness of that joy and peace. May your Christmas be filled with warmth, love, and the comforting presence of family and friends.
Wishing you a joyful, peaceful, and safe Christmas!
