I believe that the ability of human beings to learn is a gift from God. Through the gift of learning, our students can acquire new skills, knowledge, and understanding. Learning, therefore, is the key that helps us unlock every child’s God-given gift, talent, and potential.
Christian education also aims to help our children grow in wisdom, which we can define as having experience, knowledge, and good judgement.
In his letter to the Colossians, the Apostle Paul writes: ‘My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.’ (Colossians 2:2-3).
These treasures of wisdom and knowledge in Christ are not hidden from us but freely available to those willing to explore and seek them out. This truth helps us to understand the significance of Christian education, which acknowledges God as the designer and creator of all things, including human beings. The scripture follows that all knowledge, wisdom and understanding are to be found in God.
We are thankful that through the gift of learning, we can empower our students, in partnership with parents, to grow in confidence and wisdom, preparing them to live abundant lives in meaningful engagement with society.
