Murdoch University and its team of knowledgeable and helpful ambassadors informed and engaged our emerging adults throughout the day.
Murdoch University
Commencing with an overview of career development as they contemplated future ambitions, whilst discovering what Murdoch had to offer. With incentives of swag like sunglasses, books, pens, and more, student engagement lifted with many showing their competitive side as they answered dozens of general questions betting out the teachers to win some merchandise. Students explored the grounds and facilities including the quad, markets, e-gaming hub, multipurpose courts, and more, providing them a taste of what university life is like. Topical sessions in criminology, game art, and design, and conservation and wildlife biology provided insight into different areas of study.
It was encouraging to hear students’ comments like ‘I’m now considering going to university, “I’ve narrowed down what I want to do in the future” and “what do I need to do to go to university?”. Arriving back at school some of the students grabbed university books to assist with their career decision-making process. I would like to thank the staff from Murdoch University along with the Mundaring Christian staff in support to make this day possible.
So if want to know what university life like in 2022? Ask a Year 10 student, and they will know.
